H1N1
What does it take to scare the planet and impose on the market poorly-tested drugs and vaccines? First of all, you need journalists and scientists willing to propagate the scariest version of the story.
In 2010, the phantom of H1N1, the so-called “swine flu”, took over the world. We were told that the virus would have killed millions of people. Mainstream media had already fell for this trap in 2005, with the “bird flu” (H5N1). In 2010, the script was rolled out again. Face masks, disinfection products, and a lot of money cashed in by pharmaceutical companies that managed to convince the World Health Organisation and the governments that their products were a must-have.

2010: “Il fantasma della pandemia” (The phantom of pandemics), by Serena Tinari
Terrifying pictures from Mexico, and daily press conferences where journalists kept asking weird questions: shouldn’t more body bags made available for the soon-coming millions of victims? The script of a deadly “pandemic” was first rolled out in 2005, with the so-called bird flu. It all started from scratch again in 2010, with the “swine flu”. Both cases, in hindsight, tell us a lot about what has happened in 2020-2023 with the COVID era. These cases share many features. A panic-driven media reporting, characterized by a deep ignorance of the basics of health and medicine. Governments acting as public relation agencies for pharmaceutical companies, that achieved massive financial gain by selling poorly tested drugs and vaccines that come with a rather poor benefit for most patients, and side effects for many. The pandemic scares are a jackpot for the industry, and will be probably reminded as the events that have shown the difficult situation the scientific and medical community finds itself in – in the hands of very powerful agents. The victim? The public interest.
”Il fantasma della pandemia” (The phantom of pandemics) was broadcasted by Swiss public TV show Falò RSI in 2010. The video is available in Italian here.
The German version, aired by Swiss public TV show Rundschau SRF is here. A shorter version was broadcasted by Swiss public TV show Mise au Point RTS and can be watched here. An English time-coded transcript is available here.
