We are often invited to give public speeches and to join conferences as speakers, in Switzerland and in other countries. The topics are those that lay at the core of Re-Check’s mission: how to investigate health and medicine; how to perform a critical assessment of clinical studies and regulatory documents; where to find the best available evidence on drugs, vaccines and other medical interventions; how to find and put into context undisclosed conflicts of interest, and what to make out of the declared ones; ghost management and the craft of mapping the issues and affairs of public health and medicine.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

28 June 2023<\/strong> We participated to the 6th<\/sup> International Conference on Public Policy (ICPP6). The recording of our presentation \u201cGhost management at work. How to investigate and map health affairs\u201d is available, along with the other panels, here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

21-25 November 2022<\/strong> Re-Check participated with a panel to the international congress \u201cPOLI-COVID-22<\/a> <\/em>Salute, Scienza e Societ\u00e0 alla prova della pandemia\u201d, which took place in Turin (Italy). Among the international speakers: John Ioannidis, Tom Jefferson, Peter Doshi, Sunetra Gupta. Available online in open access: program<\/a> and recordings<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

October 2022<\/strong> Serena Tinari participated to the conference \u201cPandemia & (dis)Informazione\u201d (Pandemic & (dis)information), that took place in Trieste (IT) and was organised by the Comitato<\/a> di Mutuo Appoggio Lavoratori Radio-TV. 22 June 2022<\/strong> We opened with a key note speech the training module for Italian journalists \u201cLe mie evidenze, le tue evidenze e le evidenze<\/a>\u201d, organised by INMP \/ NIHP<\/a> with the patronage of the Italian National Journalism Board<\/a>. 7 May 2022<\/strong> Serena Tinari was the key note speaker at the Dies Academicus of USI university<\/a> in Lugano. Her speech: \u201cJournalism, academia and society. In crisis mode\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

27-29 April 2022<\/strong> We participated to the symposium \u201cAnalyzing Ghost-management: Dynamics of Corporate Power in a Risk Society\u201d. 8-10 September 2020<\/strong> Serena Tinari organised and hosted the Health Track at DataHarvest Digital, the European Investigative Journalism Conference held for once online: Reporting on public health in the corona-crisis<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

16 November 2019<\/strong> Catherine Riva joined the conference “Medical scandals: the role of journalists and whistleblowers”<\/a> at the Health Trade Fair <\/a>organized by Plan\u00e8te Sant\u00e9. Panel discussion with Christophe Ungar (journalist, Swiss public TV RTS) and Prof. Olivier Lamy (CHUV), moderated by Isabelle Moncada (journalist RTS). CERM Martigny (CH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7-9 October 2019<\/strong> Catherine Riva joined the 4Es Forum “Improving the detection, analysis and reporting of harms in medicines”<\/a>, a three-day workshop<\/a> organised and sponsored by the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine (CEBM Oxford<\/a>) and by Uppsala Monitoring Centre<\/a>, the WHO\u2019s Programme for International Drug Monitoring. At the session \u201cPotential solutions to the problems of pre-marketing approvals\u201d, Catherine spoke about Re-Check findings on ghost management and capture at work during the HPV vaccine approval and about Re-Check’s on-going research project on ghost management (GhoMan \u2013 Chasing the Ghosts). 25-29 September 2019<\/strong> At the Global Investigative Journalism Conference 2019<\/a> (GIJC19) two Re-Check presentations by Serena Tinari: an half-day workshop organized by CFI<\/a>, the French government media development agency, and GIJN\u2019s Investigating Health and Medicine \u2013 Tips & Techniques (1)<\/a>. At GIJC19 was launched #M\u00e9diaLabInvestigation<\/a>, a new CFI project to support the specialization of investigative journalists in the field of health and the production of quality investigations. Re-Check is excited to be involved in the project to provide consultancy, training and mentorship in collaboration with Tunisian investigative journalist Hanene Zbiss Zbiss<\/a>. At GIJC19 Serena contributed also to the \u201cDocumentaries Track\u201d with the panels How to Finance Your Investigative Documentary<\/a>, Pitching Your Documentary Idea<\/a> and the coaching session Meet the Mentor<\/a>.
