The List

A resource for journalists to find sources – experts in medicine and health – that do not have financial ties to the drug or medical device industries. The Lown List of Independent Health Experts was born in 2008, when Jeanne Lenzer and Shannon Brownlee published on the British Medical Journal Naming names: is there an (unbiased) doctor in the house?

Re-Check’s Catherine Riva and Serena Tinari are members of The List coordinating panel.

The Lown List of Independent Health Experts is a free-of-charge resource. Journalists may request access to the List’s experts through this form. Only reporters currently employed at a news outlet or freelancing will be allowed access. You may be asked to provide links to authored articles.

Clinicians and researchers with no financial ties to the pharmaceutical or medical device industries that are comfortable conveying complex topics to the media can apply to be a member of the List of Industry-Independent Health Experts – all candidatures will be assessed by the coordinating panel, and they should be sent to Jgarber@lowninstitute.org.
